Nestlé North America is committed to establishing and growing successful business relationships with increasing numbers of qualified and certified minority, woman and veteran-owned suppliers, as well as businesses that are federally defined as a Small Business or located in Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZones). We develop mutually beneficial partnerships with diverse suppliers and incorporate their quality products and services, excellent customer relations and competitive costs into our category reviews and product or service bids.

We know that fulfilling this commitment is important to our customers, our increasingly diverse consumer base, the communities in which we operate and ultimately, to the success of our company.

Nestle Business Services' 3rd Annual Supplier Diversity Conference

The primary purpose of our 3rd Supplier Diversity conference was to help our existing and high performing potential diverse suppliers improve their understanding of our operating companies and to enhance their relationships with our buyers. This year we were joined by more than 100 diverse suppliers.

The secondary purpose of our conference was to broaden our buyers' exposure to diverse business owners and to the supplier diversity related best practices implemented by America's leading corporations. Last year Cargill shared their strategies and this year we heard from Sempra Energy Utilities and Alcon. Ten of our major suppliers participated in our matchmaking activities.

The success of our conference will be measured by:

1. Diverse companies increasing their business with Nestle Operating Companies.
2. Our major suppliers doing more business with diverse businesses in our behalf
3. Our buyers knowing more about specific diverse suppliers
